Catriona Gray, Enchantress

Cat 14 times an Enchantress. Why did I write 14 QuickBytes about our Miss Universe? 2 reasons. 

One: Because Cat is an explosive if unobtrusive display of talents by a single person, and she is Proudly Pinay.

Two: Because Cat's triumph over adversity has transformed, like magic, beyond a single place called Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna,  today we have 7,000 plus Enchanted Islands.

Are my 14 QuickBytes on Miss Universe 2018 enchanted? Not necessarily, but I was enchanted that Cat won The Universe, but before that she lost The World.

Here is my complete tribute to Miss Universe 2018, all my 14 QuickBytes essays written & published between 18 December and 26 December in my blog QuickBytes (iquickbytes.blogspot.com), 9 days after Cat's victory in Thailand over 93 other brain & beauty country contestants. I was planning for 13, to end with a different interpretation of "13" in Jesus Christ's life, but my wife Ampy suggested 14, round numbers. Okay. I just found out that 14 is fantastic – "14" expresses "personal freedom, including independence and self-determination" (affinitynumerology.com). That is so Cat!

Written by the one and only recipient of the award "Outstanding Alumnus For Creative Writing" given by the UP Los Baños Alumni Association in 2011.
