Is President Rodrigo Roa Duterte a coward? Romano Cortes
Jorge says "Filipinos (are) cowards," while Novaliches Bishop
Emeritus Teodoro Bacani has raised the question of the bravery of the President
and Mr Duterte has so far failed to come up to the challenge:
That he walk
the streets without protection whatsoever, just him.
"Filipino Cowards" is Mr Jorge Facebook post
(Wednesday, 9 January 2019, Facebook,
facebook.com).
The Bishop's provocation is in ANN's report via ABS-CBN News, "Bacani Dares Duterte: Walk The Streets Without
Bodyguards" (Tuesday, 15 January 2019, news.abs-cbn.com).
Does Mr Duterte love his country, love his people? British
poet Oscar Wilde has the answer:
Yet each man kills the
thing he loves
By each let this be heard.
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word.
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword!
By each let this be heard.
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word.
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword!
So which one to use: the Judas kiss or the Joan of Arc
sword? None if you truly are a coward. And yes, I'd rather be a coward than a
dead hero!
Mr Jorge has harsh words to say about us Filipinos:
We now live at a time
when rape, murder, plunder, incompetence, and treason are being normalized by
the Duterte regime and its supporters. Any of these heinous offences should
rightly incur criminal charges, public condemnation, rage, and ostracism.¶This
has come to pass because we have normalized cowardice. Courage is no longer
demanded of everyone. Only a nation of cowards would allow the Duterte regime
to continue.
Mr Jorge is saying that we Filipinos must be brave enough to
kill the thing we love, if necessary! Which is? Democracy. He says:
Cowardice is as
despicable and contemptible as rape, murder, incompetence, and treason.
¶Everyone should be raising their voices in indignation, marching on the
streets in protest, and campaigning and voting for righteous candidates,
because that's what it's going to take to get things done.
Shouting invectives at Mr Duterte and/or in madness burning
his effigy, count me out. Rather, aside from campaigning for admirable aspirants:
I would squeak
up!
I just invented that behavior now. "Life is only for
the brave," Mr Jorge says. I prefer to squeak up. To squeak up!is to speak, whether in text or image or voice,
So that the evil is spoken of but in
kindness.
You do not condemn the sinner;
rather, you condemn the sin.
You do not condemn the sinner;
rather, you condemn the sin.
"The truth demands our courage to speak out," Mr
Jorge says. Ah, the truth! I have written about this; see my latest, "Maria
Ressa, Defense Of Democracy Is Not The Issue! Development Is" (03 January
2019, QuickBytes, blogspot.com).
In the manner of Zig Ziglar, Mr Jorge, think!
T.H.I.N.K.
Is it True? If True, is it Helpful? If Helpful, is it Inspiring? If Inspiring, is it Necessary? If Necessary, is it Kind?
Is it True? If True, is it Helpful? If Helpful, is it Inspiring? If Inspiring, is it Necessary? If Necessary, is it Kind?
If you don't behave in the manner of T.H.I.N.K., Mr Jorge,
Truth can be used against you! As indeed it is being used against people who
only think of the Truth.
THINK about that!517
