The Way Of Catriona Gray

I'm 100% Filipino, of the Ilocano tribe, but I happen to much like American singer & performer Frank Sinatra, not because of the first name, not even because I can sing like him, with a good & deep baritone voice of my own, but because his songs resonate with me. Like, his "Always" was my theme song with my first love. Among his songs, I can sing all these and more (alphabetically arranged): Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear To Tread), Frenesi, I'll Never Smile Again, I'm In The Mood For Love, Imagination, Once In A While, Our Love Affair, and This Love Of Mine. 

And, of course, My Way.

Yes, there were times
I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all
And I stood tall
And did it my way

Cat lost the Miss World 2016 contest; she must win Miss Universe 2018!

"Regrets I've had a few" – what did she do wrong for Miss World? Or what did she not do right? Or not enough?

And so, next:

I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each chartered course
Each careful step along the by-way
And more, much more than this
I did it my way.

The song "My Way" that brought back excitement to the #1 Singer Of All Time was written by Paul Anka, who happens to be the favorite of my wife Ampy. I can sing like Frank Sinatra for that matter, with my own baritone voice. I'd be glad to sing it in front of Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray!

This time, because of Cat and because she won as Miss Universe 2018 despite the huge failure of her quest for Miss World 2016:

Cat didn't get her tongue.
Cat did it her way!

"And so I face the final curtain" – that was the Miss Universe 2018 beauty contest in December. On 18 March 2018, at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Cat had won as Binibining Pilipinas 2018, and so she knew the next time she goes onstage, she faces the final curtain.

And now the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain

Up to and specially after Miss World 2016, Cat can say:

I've lived a life that's full
I've travelled each and every highway
and more, much more than this
I did it my way.

For Miss Universe 2018, Cat did everything.
Except give up!

I don't think Cat wrote it down, tweeted, or blogged it, but she had it all figured in her mind: "Miss Universe 2018! Nothing but the best is good enough for me."
