Here is Bro Joey Angeles' prayer on Radio Veritas for Epiphany, Sunday, 06 January 2019, in Bishop Pablo
Virgilio "Ambo" David's program Men
of Light:
In the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Magi from the east on a journey, an Epiphany journey. This
epiphany’s journey is not just the wise men’s journey, it is also our journey.
Heavenly Father, thank
you for reminding us that the truth of the sacred scripture is not limited to
or contained only in the past.
I do not know what was in the sky, what the wise men saw on
that first night. I do not know what was on their minds, what they thought,
asked, or talked about. I do not know what was in their hearts, what they felt,
dreamed, or longed for. But I know that there have been times when each of us
have experienced epiphany – times when our night skies have been lit brightly;
times when our minds have been illumined; times when our hearts have been
enlightened. Those times have revealed to us a life in the world larger than
before. They have been moments that gave us the courage to travel beyond the
borders and boundaries that usually encircled our lives. Epiphanies – those
times when something calls us, moves us to a place and we see your face – the
face of God in a new way. So human that it seems so ordinary, maybe too ordinary
to believe. Maybe that is what happened to the wise men, they began to see, and
hear stories of their lives, something stirred within them and they began to
wonder, and to imagine their lives to be part of a much larger story.
Heavenly Father, light
our paths with the Star of Christ. Lead us on our journey, that same journey
that took the wise men to the house where they found the answer to their
questions in the arms of his mother Mary. Lead us to your ultimate gift, Jesus
Christ. And though we may travel a different route than these wise men did, may
we always say “yes” to you when you call us, when you reveal your Divinity to
us through the Epiphanies that forever changed who we are, how we lived and the
road we traveled, that we may see your glory face to face. We ask this through
Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one
God, forever and ever. Amen.
